Oh for Ruriks sake.. ok mods feel free to move the post.

I was congratulating a guild member in the best way i felt i knew. He didn't even request this, he's just a good bloke that has done something that deserves a bit of recognition. If it is the wrong place then feel free to move it not that i'd have a choice in the matter.

@theoneandonlyx... why does it have to be a bragging post. When you say, sweet I made 30'000 at work today (or anything else that you feel good about) are you bragging or just happy you did it? GW's has a community out there willing to actually look at this thread as what it is, a congratulations thread to a mate that did well. I am certainly not bothered if more people see it and as i said.. if it gets moved so be it.

..... Wait.. can you hear that.... YES the penny has dropped. If you look deeper into that pic though it DOES address an issue that does crop up alot. The strength (or lack there of) of henchies, disregarding the fact i fellow guild member did this have younot realised it says something about the viablity of henchies. THAT is what a discussion forum is for... not to demolish a thread because you think its not worth it.. its there to discuss the issues behind the thread wether the OPmeant it or not.
A thread does not have to be a cookie cutter 'build' you know

i really, hate the idea of nerfing henchies(no offence dude). henchies are the only way some people can do anything, w/o a PuG team. so basically u would be taking the option away from them and forcing them to either solo, or deal w/ people.

I find this amazing... congrats to all that have done or are able to do this. I find the henchies, for the most part too weak... but if this is possible, I'm doing something wrong.

So, umm, what's the secret?

No offence taken and in fact I better explain something.

I have a somewhat dry and sarcastic sense of humour, my original post was actually a dig at those that mock henchies as well as a 'big up' for 'me homie' lol. I certainly don't think they should be nerfed so fear not, i'm not going to start a nerf henchie campaign

The secret is tons of patience and a head for the game. TBH i wouldn't know how to do it as i haven't done it myself but i'm guessing its down to where and when you are in the keep at the end. I'm sure i can coax thug on here to explain how he did it, should he realise i've posted this (its 2am here). However i feel that by the time he gets on the forums tomorrow the thread will be languishing at the bottom ofthe page
Anyway bedtime for me.. happy gaming to all the american time zoneplayers out there and good luck to any east of there.... you'll get tired sooner or later

Henchies sometimes are acctualy smarter than human players. Especially after this update. I can clearly see the difference. Before i couldnt even pass the first murssat in Ring of Fire, now i go capping w/ them. and its acctualy much faster .

Henchies are suprisinly powerfull when they are cordinated carefully. I was actually suprised by just how much damage they took and recieved doing this. I did it because of someone else doing it with mending gave me inspiration. It was also a way of saying Nanan nan naaaana to all those pugs you get that say "dont take henchies they are rubbish and ill quit". (the nerf this was a joke people :P )

Basicly i always call with henchies as otherwise they attack what you attack and thats too slow. The key is keeping an eye on your henchie monks and calling on anything attacking them, Cyn helps with firestorm if you know how to posiotion yourself, and you can trap them or make em run from the henchie monks. And attacking the weaker armourd enemies first and working upwards.

(Also there was only 1 death on the mission, and it was me . Thats right the henchies didnt die and i did once).

It further proves that he really did let the henchmen do it alone, since any warrior in their right mind wouldn't switch between axes and swords...
Thats my farming weopons set , And my builds swap beetween sword and axes alot. So i leave it like that to be lazy, i normally have 3 axes and a sword.

The one major advantage henchmen have over humans is you are in complete control over them. This allows you to focus your fire on what is most important, and the more competant you are as a player, the better the henchmen will be. However, henchmen can also be a nuisance for a pulling task, as they sometimes will charge into battle attacking a target. For the most part though they usually only start attacking when you tell them.

If your trying to lure and they charge in, you can run away calling/clicking on yourself, to get them to react to running quicker. Its not always effictive but alot of the times they will change from attacking to running back with you.

Ok, if I'm reading this right; you call your targets and the henchies attack what you called. I do this now mainly as a habit. However, as soon as I change targets, say to poison/pin down/whatever they change to my new target as well. I then have to re-call the original target.
Back to reading this right - Are you able to call a target and have them stay with it? If so, how are you able to do this? I've solo'd through most of the game with henchies but found them to be meat for the mobs most of the time. Like I said, I'm doing something wrong. lol

Keeping in mind it's late and I'm falling a sleep at the keyboard, I apologise if this has been brought up before. But, I've searched and never found the like. Most threads I've seen about henchies are what skills they have and how they need commands.

Hench are too strong: my guildie and i went into the new tomb of the primeval king area with the 2 of us and 6 hench, well, halfway through the first level his comp kicked him off gw. So I was left alone with 6 henchies and me. i killed the rest of the monsters there(there were like 5 more groups) and I got into the 2nd level of the thing, well, I died there but it just shows how strong they are.

Henchies acctualy listen and not do whatever they want to do when u call a target. Humans tend to do whatever they want.

Zaishen Henchies>>>>>>>>>Mhenlo, Reyna, Stefan and Orion

The Zaishen Healers are better than most PuG Monks I've played with.

That is all.

Good tip! Thanks I will have to keep that in mind. I agree most of the time henchies are better than PUGs but it gets lonely.
